Sad Slipper Story

Posted in Finished Objects at 7:35 pm by merknits

As I had hoped, the Fiber Trends Clogs did knit up quickly.  Here they are unfelted, with a wide shot so you can see the snow falling in the background on March 20! Yuck.

And here they are felted:

So why is this a sad story? Well, see how one of the felted slippers is slightly larger than the other? I put that one back in the washer and got a little distracted, and now it’s way too small. 😦  Guess it’s time to order more yarn! Oh, and just in case you were wondering, the yarn is Knit Picks Wool of the Andes in Williamsburg and Blue Ink, and the pattern is the Fiber Trends Felt Clogs. Unfortunately, I can’t blame the pattern – the size issue is entirely my fault!

That snow on the first day of spring was a surprise, wasn’t it? That is too bad that one of the slippers was over felted 😦 I have to make a pair of these as mine both have huge holes in the sole. The next pair I hope to put the leather bottoms on.
